Only 4.4% of Nashville’s urban forest is in the public domain. It is essential that everyone does their part, planting trees on private property to ensure that we have a healthy urban tree canopy. The Nashville Tree Foundation has options available for homeowners seeking trees for their own private property.

The Nashville Tree Foundation has an explicit goal of planting trees where there are the fewest, and will prioritize requests from low canopy areas.
