Planting is only half the work, no matter how many trees we put into the ground. By educating Nashvillians of all ages about the importance of the urban canopy, we’re ensuring that our work reaches beyond the planting sites. We love to couple our plantings with education. If your school or organization would like both, please let us know!

K-12 Education

Nashville Tree Foundation proudly works with Nashville schools to provide educational materials for all grade levels and learning environments.

Take a walk through your school’s campus or adjacent green space, and learn about the life blooming all around us with a hands-on exploration of tree anatomy and characteristics.

Partner with us to tailor a learning experience fit for your grade level. Our Tree Exploration lessons supplement in class lessons with an outdoor adventure, such as Tree Anatomy, Noticing Ecosystems, or Invasive Species.

Your class will learn how to plant and care for a tree seedling and learn the details about that particular tree.

Help us train the next generation of advocates and leaders by partnering with the NTF team to learn about environmental justice, ecoconsciousness, and why we should care for Nashville’s urban canopy.

Community Classes

We are all lifelong learners. Check out one of our community education events to pick up a new skill, learn about Nashville’s environmental needs, or hear a special guest share their expertise.
