A majority of Nashville’s urban forest is in the private domain. It is essential that everyone does their part, and planting trees on private property ensures that we have a healthy urban tree canopy! The Nashville Tree Foundation has options available for homeowners seeking trees for their own private property, as well as neighborhood association groups.

The Nashville Tree Foundation has an explicit goal of planting trees where there are the fewest, and will prioritize requests from low canopy areas.
